About Lime:
▪ Also known as Key Lime, Citrus aurantifolia is a small evergreen tree that produces a small, sour fruit very similar to Lemon. It has a high content of citric acid, but typically less ascorbic acid.
▪ Botanists believe that most Lime trees originated in Burma and India, and were brought to the Mediterranean region more than a thousand years ago by early Arab traders.
▪ Lime Essential Oil is considered the most aromatically potent of the citrus oils. Historically, Lime has been used to prevent sailors long at sea from developing scurvy.
• This oil has phototoxic properties and exposure to the sun must be avoided after application to the skin.
